Essential Oil FAQ's

What is an essential oil?

Essential oils are the extracted organic compounds found in leaves, bark, stems, resin, flowers, roots, and seeds of plants or the pith of citrus fruits. The oils are produced by either steam distillation or are cold pressed. They possess a variety of health benefits, whether it be physical, emotional, or mental.

How do I use the essential oil roller?

You can apply the roller to your temples, behind your ears, back of your neck or bottoms of your feet and massage it in. Not to worry, each roller contains the instructions right on the label!

Are essential oils safe?

When they are safely diluted and used as directed, essential oils are safe and have many benefits for the body. They are a powerful healing tool which have been used for many centuries. Studies have shown that there are few negative side effects. It's important to do your own research and purchase high quality oils, that are not only organic, but are ethically sourced if possible. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, nursing, or in treatment. Avoid eyes, inner ears and sensitive areas. Avoid direct sunlight and UV rays for 12 hours when using citrus oils, and always do a test patch first!

What if I'm allergic to coconut oil?

The base oil of our rollers can be changed to many other carrier oils, such as: almond oil, jojoba oil, grape seed oil, castor oil, avocado oil or olive oil. Just let us know!

What is the shelf life of essential oils? Do they expire?

Essential oils do not expire. They are antibacterial and antiviral and hence do not grow mold or bacteria. They are however volatile and oxidize over time due to light and heat. Once an oil oxidizes, its chemical constituents change. We suggest storing your oils in a cool, dark place and keeping the lids tightly secured when not in use to slow the process of oxidization. Discard after one year of opening.
